Boise — Art in the Park is one of Idaho’s premier cultural events and kicks off this Friday with over 250 artists displaying works ranging from glass and metalwork, pottery and textiles, jewelry, and toys.
Shoppers can also enjoy food and beverages from 30 vendors at Julia Davis Park, listen to local musicians at Gene Harris Bandshell, and grab a drink in the Sculpture Garden Pub. Kids can get creative at the Children’s Art Tent with arts-and-craft projects closely related to artwork on display at BAM.

Boise Art Museum’s 68th annual Art in the Park brings contemporary arts and crafts from across Idaho and beyond to Julia Davis Park for three days each September. Over 240 artists from throughout Idaho, Idaho’s borders and further away showcase their works at booths located throughout Julia Davis Park; art lovers of all ages come out for shopping, eat good food, and listen to local musicians at this festival-fundraiser for Boise Art Museum.
Visitors to the fair will discover everything from glass and metal works, pottery and textiles, jewelry, and toys crafted by Idaho artists, ranging from glass blowing, metalworking and ceramics, textiles, jewelry, and toys. Each year, some popular favorites return, as well as many emerging artists making their debut appearance – this year, there are 106 Idaho artists involved, with 106 Idaho artists taking part! This event runs from Friday through Sunday.
This year’s event is featuring a Children’s Art Tent where children aged five to eight can create art inspired by current exhibitions at BAM. This tent will be free of charge during all three days of the event and open throughout its entirety.
Additionally, there will be a large white tent located at the corner of the Rose Garden and the park’s main walking path, hosting live performances. The Gene Harris Bandshell stage will host various local bands beginning Friday evening through Sunday afternoon – this includes Latin American group Rosa Dos Ventos, folk singers Blaze & Kelly, and Ballet Idaho Academy Youth Company, to name just some.
At the festival, there will be over 30 food vendors offering attendees delicious treats like gyros, pizza, tacos, mac and cheese, kettle corn, and sweets like churros and cotton candy. Plus, drinks will be provided at both the Sculpture Garden Pub and Children’s Art Tent bars!
This event is free to attend, and parking can be found at Boise State University Brady Garage and ParkBOI downtown public parking garages. Shuttle service will run between them and the park throughout the festival, with shuttles departing the Brady Garage on Friday at 4:30 pm and Saturday and Sunday evenings starting at 5:30 pm from there.
