Vision Services

JVCHC serves diverse parts of its region through an integrated model involving community health workers, mobile units, and in-school clinics. Schnake stressed the need to offer multiple forms of care – starting with their first location on Division Street, as evidenced by various modes of service provision.

JVCHC has outgrown its current facility in Republic, and Wehner says their new 15,000-square-foot clinic will feature 21 exam rooms, three dental providers, and one behavioral health provider. A telehealth provider will also visit weekly to treat children for ear infections and sore throats.

Parents now have an alternative to taking their students out of school for doctor’s appointments, thanks to the partnership between JVCHC and Springfield Public Schools. School nurses will identify children who require assistance before connecting them with providers through telehealth for treatment.
